BETA TERMS OF USE

Use the research. Keep your judgment.

Worked IRL is built to find useful real-world evidence and practical next moves, not to replace the person responsible for deciding what is safe and appropriate in the real situation.

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 5, 2026

1. What Worked IRL is

Worked IRL is a beta research and real-world problem-solving service. It combines public web research, manufacturer or support information when available, practitioner and community reports, AI-assisted analysis, optional attachment analysis, and user-submitted real-world outcomes.

The service is informational and educational. It is not a licensed repair professional, engineer, electrician, mechanic, doctor, dentist, attorney, emergency service, or other regulated professional.

2. No guarantee of accuracy or results

Research can be incomplete, outdated, wrong, or unsuitable for your exact model, property, vehicle, equipment, jurisdiction, skill level, circumstances, or task. Community reports and user outcomes may be anecdotal.

Photo or document analysis can also be incomplete or misleading because an attachment may omit context, contain outdated information, be hard to read, or not apply to the exact situation. Attachment-derived observations are not a professional inspection, diagnosis, or guarantee.

Confidence labels describe the strength of the available evidence as assessed by the system. They are not guarantees.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for deciding whether to act on information from Worked IRL. Follow applicable laws, codes, manufacturer instructions, warranties, safety procedures, recall notices, and personal protective-equipment requirements.

Stop if the situation is outside your competence or if conditions differ materially from the assumptions in the answer.

Never use Worked IRL as a reason to bypass guards, interlocks, grounding, pressure relief, safety devices, legal requirements, or manufacturer safeguards.

4. Higher-risk situations

Do not rely on Worked IRL as the sole basis for work involving mains electricity, gas or fuel, fire or high voltage, structural systems, pressure vessels, firearms, dangerous machinery, lifting or supporting vehicles or heavy loads, hazardous chemicals, medical treatment, or other situations where a mistake could cause serious injury, death, fire, or major property damage.

If there is an immediate threat to life, health, fire safety, gas safety, electrical safety, structural safety, or public safety, stop and contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional.

5. Information you submit

You keep ownership of the information you submit. By using the service, you give Worked IRL permission to process that information as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.

If you attach a photo or PDF, you give Worked IRL permission to send that attachment to the AI service for analysis as part of the hunt. The beta is designed not to save the raw attachment with the case, although short text observations derived from it may be retained as research context.

For PDF attachments, the original filename is intended to remain local to the attachment picker and is replaced with a generic attachment label before submission.

If you submit outcome feedback, you also permit Worked IRL to use a de-identified or scrubbed version of that outcome as private supporting evidence for closely matched future research.

Do not submit information, photos, PDFs, or documents you do not have the right to share, or highly sensitive information that is unnecessary to answer the request.

6. Shared hunts

A share link is a read-only view of a saved case. Anyone with the link can potentially read the case. You are responsible for deciding whether the information in a case is appropriate to share.

Shared pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines, but that does not make the link secret or encrypted.

Raw attached photos and PDFs are not included in shared hunts because the beta does not retain them with the saved case.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Worked IRL to:

  • Break the law, facilitate abuse, or intentionally cause harm.
  • Defeat safety systems or request dangerous instructions the service is designed to withhold.
  • Probe, overload, automate around, or deliberately evade usage and abuse limits.
  • Interfere with other users, the application, its database, or its service providers.

8. Beta availability

This is an evolving beta. Features can change, break, be limited, or be removed. Cases may become unavailable because of maintenance, service-provider failures, abuse prevention, or product changes.

Usage limits may be applied to control cost, abuse, or capacity.

9. Third-party sources and services

Worked IRL may link to or rely on third-party websites, manufacturers, forums, videos, AI services, hosting providers, and databases. Those parties are independent and may have their own terms, policies, accuracy limitations, and availability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Worked IRL is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or a guaranteed outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Worked IRL and the people operating it are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or reliance on its information.

11. Changes

These beta terms may change as the product, business model, and legal requirements develop. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you are using the service under the updated terms.
